Abstract

This paper discusses the identification of an Early Bronze Age vase painter and the possibile need to reconsider the sequences of Castelluccian culture that have been established. It asks if the time has come to abandon the idea of a general "Protocastelluccian" in which all fine ware is early (Proto) and the rest is later (standard) and if we might not be better served by identifying and studying local sequences built up as Bernabo Brea build up the sequence for Aetna region.
